Pivotell Weekly Pill Organiser

With an innovative transparent shutter roller system that makes tablets easily accessible for those who lack dexterity, the Pivotell Weekly Pill Box greatly simplifies pill organisation.

Each day of the week has four compartments, marked with symbols for different times of the day, and the coloured base makes the pills highly visible. This Pill Box is also available with a red base.

Having bought several weekly pill boxes over the years and finding each flawed in its design (lids that soon break, printing/labelling that rubs off), THIS pill box from Pivotell appears to have been developed to overcome many of these problems. The rolling mechanism of the â€œlidâ€ runs smoothly but not so loosely that they would open during travel if it was in a bag or case. Iâ€™m hoping that they are robust and have longevity. The downside to the design is that if you fill the box and need to begin with an afternoon or bedtime dosage of your meds youâ€™ll need to hold all the morning pills in place in their sections while getting the pills you need out. If you are a â€œtipperâ€ as I am, this makes this particular design of having one door for the whole day a little problematical. You need to decide for yourself if this niggle is something you can deal with once a week on refilling day! The 4 sections segregating time slots throughout the day I was worried about when ordering concerned they would be too small to accommodate my heavy med-load. They surprised me by being just big enough. If I were to criticise I say that the manufacturer should have been more generous here (even though that would result in a slightly larger box). If you are not a â€œtipperâ€ like me, the segment size also means you donâ€™t have a lot of room to get a finger in to be able to remove your pills - especially so if you have big digits! Men beware! A big tick here in that the weekday names , the numbers and the icons used to denote timings cannot ever be rubbed off. Rather than being printed they are actually cut out of the white upper to reveal the red underneath. I do wonder why manufacturers do not also make them so that brail readers can feel the days/times? On the base is a paper slip helpfully enclosed in a transparent cover to keep it clean. This slip is used for noting prescription details, the name of the drug, the dosage required and thoughtfully also descriptions of the pills themselves. All of this is brilliant for the patient who needs a reminder or for a carer to identify. You can use both sides of the enclosed paper (it has 10 lines each side). However, since pharmacies often dispense generic drugs made by different companies often pills will look completely different month by month meaning that the description of the drug may not be right. Also, prescriptions themselves can change too so with just 10 rows on either side more just one of the paper slips wonâ€™t be enough. Do Pivotell offer replacement slips to buy? Over all, for me as long as the doors donâ€™t breakdown or my drug load get bigger I am pleased with this box. I filled it for the first time this weekend using my Pivotell pill popper device which Iâ€™d just bought because popping blister packs was ripping my skin open and away from the nail (!!!).
