An overbed table is a moveable, height adjustable table designed to be used with chairs, wheelchairs and beds, including adjustable divan beds and hospital profiling beds.

Some overbed tables come with cup holders, while others do not. It depends on the design and features of the specific table. Cup holders can be a convenient feature, especially for people who will be using the table for meals or drinks while in bed.

Overbed tables can be tilted so someone can read or use a tablet. They have "lips" to prevent items falling off. Some overbed tables have a "split top" so part of the table can be tilted leaving another section flat if you wanted to keep a drink there as well.

If using it with a bed/chair, there are a few things to consider:

  • What is the clearance underneath the bed/chair? Depending on what space is available will directly impact the type of overbed table you can use.
