Our prize draw competition for 2026 has now ended and the winners have been chosen! Thank you so much to everyone who entered and took part, the quality of the nominations were inspiring and it's clear that there are some incredible carers out there.
First prize: Desmond from Littlehampton
Desmond was nominated by his wife, Lyn, who had this to say:
"Although he is my husband he goes way above to make my life easier + better 365 days of the year. He encourages me no matter what. He doesn't get paid but still does virtually everything."
Congratulations, Desmond! We hope you enjoy your £100 One4all gift card.
Second prize: Sam from Dartford
Sam was nominated by her mum, Elaine, who had this to say:
"My daughter has spent 18 months dressing my legs daily after a whole days work to get them from weeping bleeding lymphoedema sores to complete whole healthy legs - she and her brother have helped us move into a bungalow as I can no longer do stairs - she accompanies me to hospital appts - and takes me out to shops etc if I need things. My hubby is nearly 80 and bless him can’t do much so my daughter is crucial to me changing my compression stockings every 48 hours on her way home after work sometimes after 7pm.
She is a blessing in disguise and I couldn’t exist without her."
Congratulations, Sam! We hope you enjoy your £75 One4all gift card.
Third prize: John from Kidderminster
John was nominated by his wife, Elizabeth, who had this to say:
"I am nominating my Husband who is my Carer . He does absolutely everything for me (mostly) without complaining and when I apologise to him for having to look after me or we didn't sign up for this 50+ years ago, he just replies "In sickness and in health". Each day we laugh and that's so important."
Congratulations, John! We hope you enjoy your £50 One4all gift card.
The nominations were so inspiring we created a fourth prize
We were so moved by the inspirational stories and the amazing spirit of so many carers that we felt compelled to add a fourth prize: the Editor's Choice award. While the original three prizes were drawn at random from the nominations, the Editor's Choice award was chosen by our Editor based on who she felt deserved a little something to say thank you.
It was an incredibly difficult decision, but there could only be one winner.
Editor's Choice: Stuart from Portsmouth
Stuart was nominated by his mum, Alison, who had this to say:
"Stuart Is my son and my carer - prior to that he cared for his 98 year old Grandmother until she passed. Taking her out in her wheelchair - cleaning her cooking for her and cleaning. He would get up in the night to sit by here read to her and give her life meaning. At the same time his other Grandmother was diagnosed with cancer and he supported her too in the same way. - At 15 his father was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer and he help me care for him to the end.
